Sometimes we need a little creative nudge to get us going. My Pinterest boards were a mess, and as I was sorting my pins I came up with an idea for a new board. This is my "Future layouts?" board! And to this board I moved everything that I felt would easily translate into a layout.
Since I started doing PL I've been making less layouts. I needed something to inspire me, and this worked. I decided that my first goal is to use these pins to kill my Copper Mountain kit. Here's the first layout I made:
I didn't find any alphas in the Copper Mountain kits that looked right, so I picked these from my stash. They came in my first Studio Calico kit "Paper Moon".
Here is the pin I used. Feel free to use pins from this board to create your own layouts. If you do, I'd love to see them!

More PL January
I'm sticking to my intention to try new page protector designs for 2014. Here's a Design F page on the right.
I used: SC Copper Mountain PL and scrapbook kits, Valentine cards, SC Copper Mountain digibrushes and printables
I don't have a type writer, so for the True Happiness card I to figure out how to print my journaling in a circle. I opened up a new file in PSE and sized it to 3x4 inches. Then I added a new layer and used a digibrush to make a circle with a 2,5 inch diameter. Then I added a third layer and journaled inside the circle. Before printing I hid the second layer. I then taped my PL card to the page using washi tape and ran it through my printer again.

New year, new PL
So, with the SC crop challenges I got a kickstart on PL 2014. I also finished up my 2013 album with this page:
I mixed the Copper Mountain PL kit with the Blue Note scrapbook kit. There's also a couple of digi brushes from the Copper Mountain PL kit brush set.
I haven't finished my 2014 intro page, but I put my first January page on the back of it. I used a Design D page protector. I'm hoping to switch it up a bit more this year, using different designs. I've also made the change to white frames around my photos. I used the Incredibooth app to take the three photo strips, and initially intended to cut them apart after printing. But I liked them together like this, and that is why they aren't evenly spaced. Some of the photos weren't good, so I thought up this way of covering them up with the numbers. It also added balance since the top left photo has some yellow in it.

I used the Copper Mountain PL kit and the High Point addon. The gold alphas are Dear Lizzy.
For my second January page I went back to the A design page protector. Lots of orange and red here! I love those little plastic star paper clips!
This is the Copper Mountain PL kit again with the Valentine card set, and the Copper Mountain printables by "In A Creative Bubble".

SC Crop
I hope you are taking part in the Studio calico crop this weekend! This my Challenge #1 layout. Our son was an early talker and he's always been saying the craziest things. To remember all the fun quotes from him I've put them on my Facebook statuses. Here's a collection of my favorite quotes from him during 2010 and 2011.

For those of you that can't read Swedish, here's a translation:
- I burn myself on the oven and pull my hand away with a scream of pain. My son's reaction: hystercial laughter and "Do it again, mom! Do it again!" dante 2 yo
- "Mom, I've gotten so big and I've really long legs. I can TOTALLY reach the floor now!" dante 3 yo
- Everything Dante counts right now is "one, two, four, five". The other day when I came out of the shower he said: "Mom, you have one, two, four, FIVE boobies!" dante 2,5 yo
- Me: Are you going to eat your Bolognese? Dante: Naaah, I'm just making a mess..." dante 2 yo
- Grandma, about your baby sister: "How can so much poop come out of such small tushie?" Dante: You're just jealous! dante 3 yo
- Dante asks me to start his LEGO Star Wars game on X-box: "I'm gonna be Ki-Adi Mundi and Chewbacca is gonna be with me. We're best friends!" Me: Then shouldn't you be Han Solo? Dante: Are you kidding me?! Mom, you are NOT playing! dante 3,5 yo
Hoping to make and post more projects during the weekend. Happy scrapping everyone!

PL Giveway
I will soon wrap up my 2013 PL album. I'm just working on the last few pages. These are my December pages 7 and 8:
I've mixed up a whole bunch of Studio Calico PL kits here, plus the Gingerbread addon and also a few things from the wonderful screenprint paper pack I bought from Lifelovepaper. I wanted to add a photo of Nelson Mandela, and the "Words of wisdom" card was perfect next to it. Lots of gold elements! I was to scared to try and paint on the cards printed on watercolor paper. I'm certain to ruin them!
I've been a subber to the Studio Calico PL kits since April 2013. Wanting to start fresh in 2014 I have put together a small pack of things I have left over from last year. Just leave your name in the comments and I will draw a name on Sunday January 12. Please remember to check back in! If I haven't heard from you in a week I will draw another winner.
And yes, I know the photo is terrible - it's way too dark here, even in the daytime, to get a decent picture.
There are cards, labels, alphas, enamel dots, paper clips, badges, washi tape and more. Everything is untouched except the bag of corkprint arrows.
Giveaway open to everyone, and I will send it free to wherever you live. Happy 2014!

Big title
Every month this year the Stromsvigt DT will create a layout based on a theme. The January theme is "Big Title". I don't own a diecutting machine, so I drew a big title by hand and cut it out with scissors. Then I misted it with Mister Huey's in Shine and machine stitched it to my page. I popped the top part up with foam adhesive.
Materials: Studio Calico Blue Note scrapbook kit, Magical printable by Hello Forever, golden triangle screen print by Lifelovepaper, arrow and asterisk stamp from the Nea alpha set by Stromsvigt (shop here!)
See links to other layouts here!

Happy 2014
Happy New Years friends! Feeling inspired in the new year and ready to create! What happens? I run out of pink ink my printer and all the stores are closed on this day. At least I managed to finish this layout about trimming the tree before the ink ran out.
I lifted this layout by Catherine Davis.Just like Catherine I added the title in PSE using a brush set that was free at Studio Calico a while back. The papers and the denim ribbon are from the Blue Note scrapbook kit.
