FUN AND GAMES

Being on summer break I've really had the time to sit down and catch up in my Project Life album. As I was adding in the pages for week 24 I noticed how thick my album was getting. It's so full I can hardly fit more pages in there. I start a new album in July every year so it's not a problem but as I went back to look at my older albums I realized something. All my January to June albums are much thicker than my July to December albums. I think this is a combination of A) The natural light being so much better in Sweden during spring than fall which makes take more photos in spring and B) Doing December Daily. Have you noticed any such patterns in your own documenting?

In my week 24 pages I went all out with the purple pieces in the Been and Gone kit and Tina Aszmus' Underwater card set. It's not a color I've worked much with before and it was fun to try something new. On Monday this week I celebrated the end of the school year with my teacher collegues. We teamed up and took part in a whole bunch of silly competitions. In the evening we had dinner together at an Italian restaurant. I cropped the photos to leave space for my journaling. I picked green as my accent color because it was a prominent color in the photos.

Purple and red sounds like a weird color combo but I think it totally works on this page. My title card comes from this template set from Paislee Press. It's a great set that I use a lot, because it has both 4x6 and 3x4 templates in it.

I used the number 4 from stamp booklet to document my love for tiedye dress from Indiska. I go there to buy new summer dresses, but always end up coming homw with yet another tiedye dress, just in a different color than I had before. I have four of them so far. This is the kind of outfit I live in all summer. Just change the dress!

I just love how versatile the Been and Gone kit is. For my "Day in the city" insert I picked a black, white and grey color scheme and the feel of the page is totally different. I love how soft and calm it is. On this day I thought I was taking my son to the city for dental surgery, but it turned out to be yet another evaluation visit. We've been waiting for his surgery for 18 months but they keep reevaluating it, and he may turn out not to need surgery at all. Sigh! So me and my son turned the day into a sightseeing tour with icecream instead. Again I used my photos as journaling spots.

This copper sculpture named Jona is super cool. It pictures both a man and a whale and it's heated and intended as a seating place. It's super warm and cozy and wonderful to rest on during cool days. The "Let's just chill" card is actually gold embossed but looks black in this picture. It comes from Tina's Underwater card set.

I've used the Tour Guide Elements by Paislee Press throughout.

This is one of my favorite spots take photos in Uppsala because it shows off every season so well. This spot looks amazing in the spring when the chestnut trees bloom, and in the fall covered in leaves and in the winter when the bare branches are covered in snow.

Here is the same spot in November.

Week 25 will be up on the blog in a few days!

  1. Really pretty pages! I don't see purple used very much but it works out beautifully in your spreads.

    1. Thank you! I was surprised how well the purple worked. I haven't liked it before at all.
