FILLIN' UP TIME

On NSD I worked entirely off my stash. It feels really good to see it disappearing. My goal is to get to the point where the only extras I own are cardstock and a few embellishments that I know I will use. Scrapbooking is a hobby that is hard on the environment, with lots of product being shipped all over the world, and often kept in boxes and bowls and never used. I think it's important to be aware of that, and try to minimize ones impact on the environment as much as possible, while still allowing yourself to create the things you want and like.

For me it was time to fill up this month. The last kit I got since I quit my sub at Studiop calico was Cirque. I am still a subber to the PL kits. They disappear in no time, so I don't have much of a stash as far as PL is concerned.

For my first layout using Carolina Moon, I wanted to use this photo my son took. I was chasing him because he took my phone, and he was taking pictures of me as I ran after him. So funny! I started out by googleing "funny quotes about me", and came up with these two quotes I really liked, this one for my journaling and this one for my title. That dark blue patterned paper is my favorite one, and I always use my favorites first.

Materials:Carolina Moon SB and PL kits, Lauren addon, Versafine Onyx Black ink and Color Box gold metallic ink

For my second Carolina Moon layout I was inspried by this pin, that's been on my Future Layouts board for a long time.

Materials: Carolina Moon SB and PL kits, Lauren addon, Versafine Onyx Black ink and Carolina Moon PL kits digital stamps (the EXPLORE stamp is an old digital kit stamp that is no longer available)

It's fun to have some all new products to work with. Looking forwards to creating more over the weekend!

NSD PL PROJECTS

In my last post I shared the layouts I made for NSD. I love challenges. They really inspire me to create! Most of my projects for NSD were PL pages. I actually made ELEVEN (!) pages for April.

Sketch challenge
Honestly, that peach color creeps me out! It looks too much like my skin. But I like how the page turned out. I often get stuck on a color when I make a page, both layout and PL. As you will see below!
Also the ice tea I made from Lipton's chocolate and pear flavored tea with a splash of Ginger Ale was divine!

Lift a CT member
Catherine Davis obviously! Those punched circles are genious. And this is where I got stuck on yellow. Love yellow! And the PL cards designed by Ali Edwards - I wouldn't mind getting more of them.

Bonus page
This one wasn't made for a challenge. I borrowed the top right photo from my sister's fb page. She went through some serious surgery, and is in remission now. And Nea lost her third tooth.

Use a big photo
Plus use three stamps member challenge. And this is my last page for April. At bottom left we're welcoming spring at the May Bonfire - a Swedish tradition. And I don't know who's butt that is, but it made it into out album

Right now I'm working on my Carolina Moon kit that arrived this week. Fun stuff! I also have some exciting news to share with you shortly!

MY NSD LAYOUTS

I had a lot of fun celebrating National Scrapbooking Day at the Studio Calico site. With the company of 5 yo Nea I made projects for most of the challenges both on the blog and in the forums.

GO BOLD

LAYER

MOOD BOARD

And I can't resist sharing the layout Nea made for the Go Bold challenge. She had so much fun scrapping with me all day! Do you scrap with your children?

The rest of the projects are PL spreads. I'll be sharing them tomorrow!
