Yesterday me and my daughter made some washi tape eggs for Easter. I started out outlining large egg shapes on two pieces of paper. Then we covered the shapes with washi tape. No worries to keep it inside the lines!
Here's another picture with my finished egg right next to the one she's working on. My daughter preferred cutting the washi with her scissors, rather than tearing it.
Next comes the hard part. Cutting along the lines! My daughter is 3,5 years old and managed it on her own. She didn't stick perfectly to the lines but I like the wonky shape she made. It really shows that she did it all on her own.
Last we added some thickers to spell out "Happy Easter" in Swedish.
Happy making!

My fave alphas
Here are two layouts I've made using my favorite alphas at the moment. Kitten from Americaan Crafts. The first one is totally inspired by the way Jen Jockisch cuts her papers on the diagonal and layers them.

The second one is inspired by a PL page by Jamaica Edgel, and made for the Studio Calico weekly designer challenge "Huge titles". In fact, it's all title! It reads "Yet another reason to hate firedrills" and shows my son's injury during a firedrill at Pre-school.

Washi tape
This washi tape is awesome! I love the graphic pattern and the bright colors. When I saw this photo of my daughter I knew it belonged with this tape. I worked with a washi tape take-over challenge from Bright Ideas where the challenge is to not use any patterned paper. Only washi tape and embellies.

The texture challenge
For the Bright Ideas texture challenge I decided to make a card set using the class printables. Here's a photo of the entire set. If you want to see the individual cards close up go to my gallery at Studio Calico.
I've also used several happy mail contents on these cards. The leaf diecut (my last - boohoo!) is from Caz, the blue ribbon is from Rosalie and the glitter tape is from Danielle. Thank you!!!

String art
For the Bright Ideas string art challenge I decided to make a card. I thought I'd used up all the large chipboard hearts and was really happy when I found this one at the bottom of my drawer that I keep the most recent SC kit in.

Ad inspo
Another Bright Ideas challenge. This time it's being inspired by ads. And hey, I didn't use a kraft base this time!
I'm loving these colored tags that SC have in the shop now. I have even more colors and sizes coming my way right now!

Bright ideas
This month's Studio Calico class is fantastic. So much inspiration both from the contributing teachers and the students themselves. These are the first 4 challenges from me:
1: Using a stencil
2: Stitched title
3: Using a map related item
4: Polka dots
And maybe for challenge number 5 I'll use something else for a background than kraft. Maybe.
